How to use?

After the installation start your i.Shrink.MP3 software.

The appearance of iShrink will vary depending upon what stage you are at. Controls will dim when there is nothing for them to do.


 How to use?

There are three simple steps in using i.Shrink.MP3

1. Choose a folder containing MP3 files that you want to optimize. i.Shrink.MP3 will also optimize MP3 files in subfolders of this folder. i.Shrink.MP3 will display a list of all the files in the folders. Choose which MP3 files you may want to optimize.
2. Analyze the MP3 files to see how much space you would save. The analysis phase may take a few minutes, depending upon how many files that you chose.
3. Optimize the files. Each MP3 file that you selected will be permanently replaced by an optimized version.


 Choose a Folder

Choose the folder that contains the MP3 files that you want to optimize by clicking this control



Alternatively, you can use the menu command:


After you choose the folder, the main i.Shrink.MP3 window will display a list of all the MP3 files in that folder and in any subfolders. You should then select the files that you want to optimize.

Tip: to quickly deselect all the files, use the menu command 'Select None'

Now you are ready for the Analysis phase.


 Analyze

After you have chosen a folder and selected which files you want to optimize, start optimization by clicking this control



Alternatively, you can use the menu command:


Analyze examines each file that you chose and determines what size it would be after optimization. Usually optimized files are much smaller than the originals. If you try to optimize the same file twice, you won't see an improvement.

During the analysis, the following progress dialog will be displayed:


If you want to terminate the analysis, click the Stop button, or click the below button in main window.


Analysis wil stop in a short time, files already analyzed will be available for optimization.

The Analyze phase makes no changes to your files.

Now you are ready for the Optimization phase.


 Optimize

After you have analyzed some MP3 files, take a look at the original and optimal sizes. It may look something like this:



Sometimes the optimal size may not be much less than the original size, in which case you should remove the check mark.

When you are ready to optimize your files, click this button


Altternatively, you can use the menu command


Remember that in the optimize phase, you will be making permanent changes to your files.
